the Brandless Brand

In the desert, with a brand with no name

No Name is the brand used primarily by the No Frills supermarket chain, as well as a handful of other supermarket chains in Canada owned by Loblaws, it’s been around since the 70′s with that packaging. Their whole thing is about cutting out advertising/graphic design/seasonal variants/ “frills” that don’t effect the actual product so they can sell a basic version of something that costs about 30% less than other brands of comparable quality.

It’s basically how my roommates and I managed to Not Starve to Death during college and the rough couple years after graduation so hey, I appreciated having it around, at least.

i used to live almost on the border and at least once a week i would catch americans coming in and losing their shit over No Name brand lmao
